Home

Home is where our story begins…

Home is the starting place of love, hope, and dreams.

The wonderful thing about home is that it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back.

Home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends.

A house is made of bricks and beams. A home is made of hopes and dreams.

I’m going home! How many times have we said that? Let’s close our eyes and think about what comes to our minds when we say the word ‘Home’

Is it a physical picture of our favourite place in the house? Our favourite couch? That corner table with the family photo? Is it the familiar smell of lingering burnt toast? Or the distinct fragrance of that aged lavender plant near the window?

Or is it more of an emotional reaction? The people who make it home?

Let’s see what the Bible says about Home -

“By wisdom, a house is built, and through understanding, it is established; through knowledge, its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.”

Proverbs 24:3-4 (NIV) How wonderful to have a home filled with understanding, to be understood, filled with treasures of hope and love!

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

Matthew 7:24 (NIV)  Through this verse we understand that the rock refers to strong foundation, foundations built on the word of God, foundations that stand strong through the various storms of life, storms of illness, hardship, abandonment, and loss. In all and every circumstance to love in-spite of the hurt.

However, the Bible also says that: “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ”  Philippians 3:20 (NIV). This gives us hope and strength to carry on as we know that Jesus will come for us and that “He will wipe every tear from our eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4 (NIV)

And for this we wait …  Home is where there is unconditional Love, everlasting peace, overflowing joy and strong security. While we strive to make our earthly homes more like heaven, we will only  be truly at home with Jesus, for only Jesus is Home!

Unending joy is found in Him and everlasting life through His son Jesus Christ, it’s her heart’s desire to share this gift freely given to all who will receive.
